Outlier is a Calgary-based MTB component company owned by Peter Cowling and Cameron Belisle O’Donnell.

In the mid 2000s Peter had an idea for a low MTB pedal. He hired an engineer to design a prototype. After a hundred glorious feet of descending the prototype failed, so Peter shelved the project.

Peter met Cam the owner of The Inside Line a Calgary MTB shop in 2020, they became trail building buddies. Peter shared the concept, and Cam was stoked on the idea and understood how to make the concept work. Outlier was formed, we got an engineer Quinn Hepburn on board and the rest is history…
